Bizarre events-Cooking sausages sets lorry on fire!

A German lorry driver set fire to his cab after deciding to cook himself some sausages while driving. Walter Reckling, 46, kept the small gas cooker for roadside use but decided to use it on the road as he was late with a delivery.

He was cooking two sausages while travelling past Niederwuerschnitz in Saxony, Germany, when the cooker toppled over. It set fire to the seat which in turn set fire to the cab of the vehicle. Reckling was treated for smoke inhalation at a local hospital where he was also found to have been three times over the legal alcohol limit reported Ananova online.

Amazing facts-Airport on beach

The Barra Airport in Scotland is unique, being the only one in the world where scheduled flights use Barra beach as Airport and water as its runway.

Aircrafts take off and land at low tide on the same beach where cockle-pickers gather shellfish.

There are regular passenger flights from Glasgow to the island - one of the southern-most of the Outer Hebrides and onwards to the smaller island of Benbecula to the north.

The airport is an important link for the island with a flying time of around one hour to Glasgow, compared to a five-hour ferry crossing to the west coast port of Oban, and a further three hours by road or rail to Scotland's central belt.

Funny facts-Football Snippets

An edition of Observer Sport Monthly featured a small item about a Moroccan parachutist. The one who, at the opening ceremony for the 1988 African Nations Cup in Casablanca, watched by royalty and the most important men in world football, delayed kick-off by missing the pitch and getting tangled up in the floodlights, where he hung upside down for 45 minutes.

During the last Nations Cup in Mali two years ago, there was a full-scale punch-up on the pitch, involving a Cameroon coach and Malian soldiers. The coach, a former World Cup goalkeeper, had placed a charm in the Mali net. Witchcraft, juju, call it what you like.

My favourite was the tale of the South African team which drove out of town, walked backwards and barefoot off the team bus into the the bush until they found a termite mound, urinated on it, then walked backwards to the bus again - and still didn't win the league.

A Manchester cinema, for the World Cup Finals 2002, offered sushi-flavoured popcorn for England's matches.

Matt Gallant (left) poses with a whopping 7ft 6inch albino catfish which is more than a foot taller than him. He pulled the giant albino catfish, which weighed 180lbs, out of the River Ebro in Spain on the last day of his fishing trip. It is believed to be the third largest albino catfish ever caught in the world and towered over Matt, who is 6ft 2inches tall. "I was stunned when I pulled it out of the river as it was so huge," said Matt, from Norwich, Norfolk. "It was my first ever catfish and I caught it on the last night in the last hour of our fishing trip. We took a photo, then put it back in the river."

Strange happenings-Police dog attacks footballers

Three players were bitten after a police dog ran on to a football pitch during an amateur game. As reported by the BBC. The German shepherd fled from his trainer during an exercise at a disused building close to the pitch.

It headed towards the field and snatched a linesman's flag before moving towards the players at Scunthorpe's Brumby Hall ground on Saturday afternoon.

The injured players Steve Baker, 19, [not Will's wife] Craig Jackson, 18, and Michael Stones, 18, were bitten on the arms and back and were treated at Scunthorpe General Hospital.
The game between Appleby Frodingham and Lincoln Moorlands had to be abandoned after the incident.

Lincoln Moorlands manager Martin Burnett said: "There were two children's games on the next field and I dread to think what could have happened if the dog had gone on there instead. "Also the dog wasn't fully grown and it could have been even worse if it was a larger animal. "It was scary as the dog was out of control, it was not listening to its handler and nobody could do anything. "I have been in football for 22 years and I have never seen anything like this before."

A Humberside Police spokesman said: "The people injured have had their injuries photographed, the dog handler has submitted a full report to the police dog section and we will fully look into what went on."

Bizarre events-Eel enters man's bladder through penis

An erratic eel wriggled its way up a man's penis and into his bladder following an accident during an unorthodox beauty spa treatment in China. Zhang Nan was bathing with live eels to cleanse his skin when one rogue serpent took a liking to his manhood. Foreign object: The dead eel is placed next to the surgical tool used to remove it from Zhang Nan's bladder.

The eel treatment in question is a similar concept to the popular London spas that offer fish pedicures. Thinking that the eels would make him look ten years younger, Nan dived into the water and let them feast upon layers of dead skin. But after laying in the spa bath, Nan felt a sharp pain and realised a small eel was working its way up his urethra and into his bladder. 'I climbed into the bath and I could feel the eels nibbling my body. But then suddenly I felt a severe pain and realised a small eel had gone into the end of my penis,' the 56-year-old from Honghu, Hubei province said. 'I tried to hold it and take it out, but the eel was too slippery to be held and it disappeared up my penis.'

Rushing himself to hospital, the man underwent a three-hour operation to remove the six-inch eel which was dead by the time doctors found it.

Surgeon Jin Wang said that, because of the eel's slippery nature, it was able to make a smooth entry into the genitals of Nan. 'The diameter of the urethra in a man's penis is just a little narrower, but because eels are quite slippery, its body worked as a lubricant and so it got into the penis smoothly,' he said.

Bizarre facts-Woman with World’s Longest Fingernails

With fingernails nearly 20 feet long, Chris "The Dutchess" Walton set the record for the world's longest nails, which took 18 years to grow. That must be one expensive manicure. The 45-year-old singer from Las Vegas known as "The Dutchess" is now part of the 2012 Guinness Book of World Records for her fingernails that measure 10 feet 2 inches on her left hand and 9 feet 7 inches on her right.

"It's kind of like a body part that I was born with, now I don't know what I would do without them," Chris "The Dutchess" Walton said while being photographed in front of the New York Public Library on Wednesday.

While she admits she doesn't know what she would do without them, we wonder what she does WITH them.

According to "The Dutchess," she can do almost anything with her 20-feet long nails including drive a car, shop and household chores. Well, anything but reach into her pockets.

"The hardest thing for me to do is dig in my pockets," she told the Huffington Post. "Everything else I can do myself - driving, shopping, cleaning the house ... although when I vacuum, the cord gets tangled in my fingers."

One other activity she does not engage in is swimming, but not because of her nails. "I don't swim, but it's not the nails that stop me swimming. It's a hair thing," she said.

"The Dutchess" demonstrated how she texts with such long fingernails, using her knuckles instead, while promoting the 2012 Guinness Book of World Records with her glittery nails and flamboyant ensemble.

She consciously thinks about her nails, which she has been growing for over 18 years, including when dressing herself, altering her clothing to fit her sharp lifestyle.

"I align my wardrobe to myself...If I like a jacket, I'll take the seam out of the arm and replace it with a zipper so I can get my nails in the sleeve," she said.

The mother of five and grandmother of three did not intentionally grow her nails over the past two decades for sport, but rather on accident.

"I never set out to make it into Guinness. It just happened," she told the Huffington Post. "One day I stopped cutting my nails. I liked the way they looked. And they just kept growing."

"The Dutchess" said she does not have a special diet to grow her nails and does not take vitamins or supplements to promote nail growth, but rather eats a lot of candy.

She does, however, care for her appendage-like fingernails, giving herself a manicure once a month. When asked how many bottles of nail polish she uses per manicure, she told the Huffington Post, "it depends on the brand, and how it goes on."

Chris "The Dutchess" Walton, a real life Edward Scissorhands, also said she does not plan on clipping her nails any time soon.

"I'm pretty sure one day I will cut them, but I can't see it in my head because I'm so used to having them," she said. "It's like a leg, I wouldn't just chop it off so it's gonna take some thinking."
