Strange facts-Coldest day in England

There is forecast of a freezing low of -13C in England as melting snow turns into ice. England should brace itself for the coldest night of the winter so far as temperatures threaten to plunge as low a -13C, according to the Met Office.

If the mercury does dip that low, it would mean the coldest thermometer readings since the frost-bitten nightmare of December 2010. At least 64 schools have been closed or partly closed due to bad weather, mostly in the south east of England.
